Humble Reviews From My Customers

“Upon retirement, I switched from seamstress work to quilting. I made the decision to make quilts for my grandchildren. After finishing my first quilt top, I contacted Cathy with questions and how to finish it. She offered me her Longarm Quilting services. She showed stitching examples and made great suggestions. Cathy’s attention to detail has made each quilt have its own personality. After consulting with Cathy, I left excited and motivated to finish each quilt. Six finished quilts later, and I couldn’t be happier with how they all turned out. Recently, I brought her two inherited vintage, hand-stitched quilt tops for her to look at. She was able to date the era based on the fabric, colors and quilt block patterns used. I give her 5-star rating”

“I am very impressed with the quality and prices from Prairie Quiltings. Great workmanship at reasonable prices. I have several quilts a year quilted by them and always a satisfied consumer. They are definitely 5 stars in my book!”

"Cathy did a wonderful job making a memory quilt of my mother. A "friend" attempted to make it but it was above her abilities and was given back to us as a distorted quilt top. She took the top this other person made, took it apart and fixed it! It exceeded our expectations with what she had to work with! Thank you Cathy!!"

When 2020 Covid-19 shutdown hit, the world hunkered down to help contain the carnage. Personally, I turned to Facebook Marketplace to help keep my sanity. There I found a multitude of items to rescue. As people sorted through their belongings and the belongings of their loved ones who had succumbed to illnesses of all kinds, incredibly beautiful quilt tops appeared for sale. As it turned out, ones which caught my eye and imagination were quilt tops from the 1890’s through to the 2000’s. These magnificent items were pieces of art, craft and history of the people who made them, then stored them away, as little time capsules.
Your expertise, creative talents and keen knowledge of period fabrics brought these quilt tops to life. It was with confidence and excitement that I awaited the return of each of the treasures I had found. I sent quilt tops to you, giving you varying degrees of direction as to my hopes for the finished quilt, and was blown away, each and every time, when I unwrapped each finished quilt. The artistry of your interpretation of my hopes, the craftmanship of the original maker, and the quality your finishing of each of the quilts has created a jewel box collection of quilts that I treasure and display in our home.
Thank you, Cathy, for taking the opportunity and challenge to save these expressive works of humble, utilitarian items created by unknown fabric artists from history. You gave them life and substance so that they can be loved and appreciated anew.
